Top 10 Things to Know about Westside
1. What is the main thing I need to know about WCC?
We are a Bible-believing church that encourages everyone to think Like Jesus and to live Like Jesus! Our mission is to Win the Lost, Equip the Saved, and to Serve All!
2. What are the differences between your 3 weekend services?
At 10:15 a.m. we offer two simultaneous Sunday morning services!
A. Traditional Worship Service. We sing hymns from the hymnal and enjoy a full choir many Sundays.
B. The Overflow, our Contemporary Worship Service, led by our worship team.
Both of the services will have the same sermon presented by Phil Hays.
The 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening service is an interactive opportunity (you can ask questions and discuss the message as Phil shares the Word of God). The Sunday evening message is different from the one taught on Sunday morning. Sunday evenings are often an opportunity to grow as a disciple of Jesus. The worship style is traditional.
3. What should I wear?
We’re not keen about dictating what people wear. If you like to “dress up” that’s fine. If you prefer jeans and a T-shirt, you’ll fit right in as well. Jesus was always inviting people to “come as you are.” We agree!
4. Do you offer communion at every service?
Yes. At the Traditional Sunday morning service (10:15) you take communion when the tray is passed to you and then you pass it on to the next person (we don't pass it all out and then take it at one time).
At The Overflow (Contemporary) Sunday morning service (10:15), attendees are invited to go to locations around the Worship Center and have communion, often as a family.
5. What programs do you have for kids or teens?
Kids and teens are a priority @ WCC! We offer Sunday School for all ages at 9:00 a.m. and Kids and Youth meet most Sunday evenings during the school year at 5:30 p.m.! In addition, Children’s Church is available at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings for grade school aged children.
6. What programs do you offer for adults?
Westside has three options for Adult Bible School each week at 9:00 a.m. at the Church. We also have an active Women’s group involved in local mission’s projects and fellowship! Our men meet for Prayer breakfasts and go on an annual men’s retreat!
7. What kind of preaching should I expect?
Sometimes, it’s easier if we just “show” you. Many past sermons are available on the sermon’s page of our website.
8. Is there a way that I can serve God at WCC?
For sure! Check out the many opportunities on the serve page of our website.
9. What are your basic beliefs as a Church?
Westside is a growing fellowship that is unashamed about the Gospel of Jesus. We believe that God has given us the greatest mission on the planet! We encourage you and your family to join with us on this journey to significant service in God’s Kingdom!
